A dental implant is surgical screw that replaces the root of your missing tooth. Dental implants are surgically placed by our Oral Surgeon or Periodontist in the bone where your tooth was lost or extracted. The bone heals around the implant and holds it in place just like the roots of the original tooth. Implants can last a lifetime!
Once the bone heals around the implant, our General Dentist will restore the missing tooth by placing a special crown (a porcelain tooth) on top of the implant.
When a patient loses most or all of his or her teeth, a number of implants may be placed and used to secure a permanent bridge or removable denture. With dental implants, your denture will never fall out and you can eat and smile with confidence and feel good about yourself again.
